In 2018 the Spartans were unstoppable, rewriting the record books at the school, county, and state level. This team won the megaphone back from King City after King City’s 13 win streak. The game was televised and is on youtube for viewing.
Knowing that KC always brings a reverse, flea flicker or other trick play, Head Coach Berlanga decided to fight fire with fire and succesfully ran several trick plays including a lateral to Tackle Miguel Arreola that resulted in a touch down!
KC was overwhelmed by the dual “strike from anywhere” threat of Payton Flores and Francisco Cisneros, and the bruising running of QB Raul “Scooter” Morales, losing the megaphone and bragging rights 33 – 13.
